Cotek converters are far superior to the $300 paper weight that came factory installed on your RV. Unlike the factory converter which is per-programmed to 14.4v and not adjustable, the Cotek converter is fully programmable for any battery type including lithium. You can use the dip switches to toggle between 14.4v and 14.7v, or we can program it to your specific battery specs before it ship via a laptop.

If you’ve ever put a voltmeter on your battery while your factory converter is supposed to be charging, you’ll see that they rarely reach 14.4v, then drop to 13.4v within 30 minutes wasting electricity or fuel from the generator. At 13.4 volts, your converter is now in battery maintainer mode, your battery might 2/3rds full at best. This is why your batteries don’t last through the night running your little 3 amp per hour furnace, its not because the furnace is a huge draw. Its also the reason you’re replacing batteries every 2-3 years. Your factory converter is garbage, get rid of it!

Flooded batteries charge at 14.8 volts, and they need to hold that voltage for about 4 hours at least until the amperage starts to drop off. Then the converter will go into float mode at 13.6v, when the battery is truly full.

There’s also an optional on/off remote CR1, to you can shut if off if you’re paying for electricity and also have solar.

This converter is one of the best of the market, made in Taiwan and should come factory on every rig out there.
